The popular Dachstein Caves are open for public viewing. There are three
caves situated inside the Dachstein limestone massif two of which are accessible
via the cable car in Obertraun and the third is on the valley floor in Obertraun. Guided
tours are available daily from May to October. |

Visit one of the
oldest salt mines where you can follow in the tracks of the Celts
and explore the interesting underground world of Salzwelten, Hallstatt. The ride up to the
mine on the funicular railcar provides breathtaking panoramic views of
Hallstatt. It is a good attraction for both young and old alike. |

Arrive in Hallstatt by, boat, bicycle, car or choose to stroll along the Lake
shore from Obertraun. Hallstatt is an enchanting little village, the buildings nestled onto the face of the mountain,
along the lake shore. Visit the Church, Bone House, Museum or take a
boat trip on the lake. |

Bad Ischl with its opulent Imperial Villa, summer residence
in previous years to Emperor Franz
Joseph and his wife Elizabeth is nearby. Much cultural activity has grown around
the popularity of this spa town, meaning that at some time throughout the year
there are spa concerts, opera, classical and jazz concerts to entertain. |

and can easily be explored by strolling along the charming alleys. A classic
